Below is a picture of a house that was driven through by a semi truck.
This House is situated about 75 meters to the side of a country highway. The highway is two paved lanes in either direction separated by a slightly hollow, grass meridian about 10 meters across.
On July 23, 1999 , the driver of a 18-wheeler had a heart attack and died about 1/2 a mile before this house. His rig crossed the meridian onto the oncoming band of highway. It crossed over that and went off of the road. The truck then crossed back over the opposing lane and through the center meridian. It crossed its own lane, went off of the roadway and proceeded to perforate this house before bursting into flames. Wreckage is strewn 50 yards beyond the house.
There was a woman knitting in a room off to the side of the house, she survived with a broken neck. As of January 2001, the house is still for sale as a fixer-upper. I don't particularly recommend this house. The highway takes a bend at this point and the truck went straight... the house was directly in the path of the runaway semi.
